Egyptian Vases and Jars

Vases, jars, pots, and bowls can be the simplest of design elements to enhance a room with ancient Egyptian decor. Codified design elements enhanced with gold in small florishes or entirely covering the vessel draw our attention to either the small piece on a shelf or table top or to the large floor piece. The Egyptians were one of the first major civilizations to codify design elements in art. The wall paintings done in the service of the Pharaohs followed a rigid code of visual rules and meanings, however, modern and contemporary Egyptian art is as diverse as any in the world art scene.
