The ancient Egyptians did not consider death to be a dark fate and believed in an afterlife. In order to ensure wealthy persons' comfort in this afterlife, they buried their dead with all the furnishings they would need in life beyond the grave. King Tut’s tomb is the most intact burial tomb ever discovered and contains many rich specimens of these furnishings. Reproductions of these finding have become popular among decorators and designers today.
